Bachfest Leipzig

Held in Leipzig since 1904, where Johann Sebastian Bach worked as cantor, the Bachfest takes place across historic venues including St Thomas's Church and St Nicholas's Church, as well as open-air concerts on the market square. The programme centres on works by Bach and his contemporaries, bringing together international performers and including the annual award of the Bach Medal.
