About
The Bergen International Festival has taken place every year in late May and early June in Bergen, Norway, since it was first held in 1953. Regarded as the largest festival of its kind in the Nordic countries, it spans about two weeks of classical music, opera, theatre, dance, folklore and public talks, staged in landmark venues such as Grieghallen, Håkonshallen and Edvard Grieg's home at Troldhaugen, as well as in the city's streets and squares.
