Bardentreffen

Bardentreffen fills the streets and squares of Nuremberg's old town on the first weekend of the Bavarian summer holidays, with eight stages hosting nearly 90 open-air concerts. Founded in 1976 to mark the 400th anniversary of meistersinger Hans Sachs's death, it has grown over the decades into a major showcase for world music, blending international acts with street musicians. Admission is entirely free, with the city and sponsors covering artist fees, making it one of Germany's largest free festivals.
