About
Held on 27 and 28 June 1970 at the Royal Bath and West Showground in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, this festival followed a first edition staged in Bath in 1969. It drew around 150,000 people for a bill mixing blues and progressive rock, featuring Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa and Santana. An adjoining field hosted a free alternative festival where Yes and Genesis performed.
