Beneath the Baobabs

Beneath the Baobabs (formerly Kilifi New Year) is a coastal Kenyan festival held above Takaungu Creek in Kilifi's baobab forest, straddling the New Year. Set in an intimate open air venue beneath centuries old baobab trees, it mixes electronic genres such as afro house, amapiano and gqom with hip hop and live performances, alongside art and wellness activities. The festival has become a launchpad for Kenya's electronic and dance music scene, pairing homegrown talent with African and international DJs.
