Launched in 1971 as the Mayor's Festival, Bumbershoot takes place on the Seattle Center campus, around the Space Needle left from the 1962 World's Fair. The festival extends beyond music alone, combining comedy, dance, film, literature and visual arts across multiple stages in the heart of Seattle.
