Overview
About
Burning Horse is Southland's music and arts festival in New Zealand, held at Montana Flat on the banks of the Mataura River near Gore. Grown out of a private birthday celebration, it features two stages of DJs and acoustic acts, mostly from the Southland and Otago region, plus art installations and talks on sustainability. Its centerpiece is the ceremonial burning of an effigy horse, all set in an open, community-driven atmosphere.
