Canal Street

Founded in 1996 as the Arendal Jazz & Blues Festival, Canal Street was for many years one of the few Norwegian festivals built around jazz and blues, before broadening into rock, pop and occasional opera. It takes place in the port town of Arendal on Norway's southern coast, using unusual venues such as a lighthouse, the town cemetery and a landfill.
