About
Deutsches Jazzfestival Frankfurt, held in Frankfurt am Main since 1953, is the oldest still-running German jazz festival and one of the oldest in the world. Launched by the German Jazz Federation to showcase the best of the national scene, it ran every two years between the 1960s and 1980s before returning to an annual rhythm in the early 1990s. It is now run by public broadcaster Hessischer Rundfunk in partnership with the city of Frankfurt, which broadcasts its concerts.
