About
Founded in 1978 by Edinburgh guitarist and banjo player Mike Hart, this festival takes over the city's pubs, venues and landmark spaces each summer. What began as free traditional jazz in the pubs has grown over the decades to span the full breadth of jazz, from swing and bebop to fusion, alongside blues, funk, gospel and hip hop, with well over a hundred performances across roughly ten days. It now ranks among the largest jazz festivals in Europe.
