About
Founded in 1972, the Festival de la Cité turns the old town of Lausanne into a network of open-air stages every summer. The program combines concerts, theatre, contemporary circus and multidisciplinary creations, with particular attention to emerging work and younger audiences through its Cité des enfants strand. The 2026 edition brought together nearly 150 artistic proposals across 23 stages over six days.
