Festival de mai

Founded in 2012 in Nice, the Festival de M.A.I. (Musiques Actuelles Improvisées) is run by the Projet Cluster association, which works at the crossroads of music and contemporary artistic research. Independent and self-funded, its programming explores current improvised music practices, including free jazz, noise, drone and electronics, bringing together artists from varied backgrounds. It stands out for its niche, uncompromising focus, well away from Nice's bigger commercial stages.
