About
The Festival dei Due Mondi (Festival of the Two Worlds) is a summer festival of music, opera, dance and theatre founded in 1958 by composer Gian Carlo Menotti in Spoleto, in Italy's Umbria region. Its name reflects Menotti's aim of bringing American and European artistic cultures into dialogue through a multidisciplinary program, rounded out by talks and roundtables. The Teatro Caio Melisso, among other historic venues in town, hosts part of the festival's opera performances each year.
