Festival Internacional de Tango de Buenos Aires

Held every year in Buenos Aires since the late 1990s, the Tango BA Festival y Mundial turns the city into a sprawling two week stage of milongas, concerts and free shows, followed by the World Tango Dance Championship created in 2003. Thousands of musicians and dancers perform in landmark spots such as Avenida Corrientes, celebrating a genre that UNESCO declared part of humanity's intangible cultural heritage in 2009. It stands today as one of the largest tango focused events in the world.
