About
Held in Cosquín, in the Punilla valley of Córdoba province, since 1961, this festival is the leading gathering for Argentine folk music, running nine nights in honor of the town's patron, the Virgin of the Rosary. Legends like Mercedes Sosa and Atahualpa Yupanqui performed on its stage, and since the 1990s a new generation (Soledad, Los Nocheros, Los Tekis) has kept the genre evolving. It takes place in late January on the town's central plaza and remains a national reference point for folklore.
