Festival International de Musique Actuelle de Victoriaville

Founded in 1983 by Michel Levasseur, this festival takes place every spring in Victoriaville, Quebec, and has become a key gathering for contemporary and experimental music, spanning free jazz, contemporary composition, electroacoustic works and improvisation. Deliberately kept small at around twenty concerts, it favors one-off collaborations between musicians and features world premieres alongside sound-art installations in public spaces. Many events are free, reinforcing its reputation as an accessible laboratory for adventurous music.
