Overview
About
Since 1993, the Festival International de Violoncelle has made Beauvais, in the Oise, a world capital of the cello, one of the very few festivals anywhere devoted entirely to the instrument. Under the artistic direction of Diana Ligeti, it offers around twenty events combining solo recitals, chamber music, symphonic concerts and contemporary works, along with masterclasses. Concerts are held in the town's heritage venues, including Saint-Pierre Cathedral, the Maladrerie Saint-Lazare and the MUDO museum.
