Gothenburg Culture Festival

Göteborgskalaset, the Gothenburg Culture Festival (Göteborgs Kulturkalas), is Gothenburg's large free city festival, filling the heart of the Swedish city for several days every late August. Launched under that name in 1994 and rebranded in 2007 to emphasize cultural diversity, it offers concerts, dance, circus acts and street food across several districts, from Kungsparken park to Kungstorget square. With no ticket or admission fee, the event draws a broad crowd around local and international acts on its stages.
