Haapavesi Folk Music Festival

The Haapavesi Folk Music Festival is held each summer at the Folk-puisto (Folk Park) in this small town in central Finland. Running since the late 1980s, it offers several days of concerts, workshops, and courses centered on traditional and contemporary Finnish folk music, with both domestic and international artists. The festival leans heavily on volunteer effort (talkoot) and pairs its music programme with visual arts.
