Internationales Dixieland Festival Dresden

Founded in 1971, the Internationales Dixieland Festival Dresden is regarded as Germany's oldest jazz festival and Europe's largest dedicated to traditional jazz. For a week the Saxon capital becomes 'Swingin' Dresden,' with dozens of bands from several countries performing across the city and aboard the Elbe's historic paddle steamers during the celebrated riverboat shuffle. The festival closes with a dixieland parade through the city centre followed by a farewell jam session.
