Internationales Karthago Festival

Founded in 1964 under President Habib Bourguiba, this festival takes place every summer in Carthage's restored ancient amphitheatre, near Tunis. Devoted to music, theatre and dance, it has hosted legendary artists over the decades, from Oum Kalthoum and Fairuz to Julio Iglesias, and today reserves a significant share of its lineup for international headliners. It is regarded as one of the most important cultural festivals in the Arab world and Africa.
