About
Founded in 1982 by Gerard Houssin, then director of the town's municipal theatre, the festival takes over Coutances each year during the Ascension week. The programme spans jazz in a broad sense, from classic quartet formats to more experimental creations, with a participatory brass band event filling the streets on Sunday. The festival also runs artist residencies.
