King Biscuit Blues Festival

The King Biscuit Blues Festival takes place every October in downtown Helena, Arkansas, on the banks of the Mississippi River, and has run since it was founded in 1986 by the Main Street Helena organization. Its name honors King Biscuit Time, the longest running daily radio show in the United States, broadcast from Helena since 1941 with blues figures such as Sonny Boy Williamson II and Robert Lockwood Jr. among its performers. Tens of thousands of blues fans gather each year for open air concerts along the river.
