Maggio Musicale Fiorentino is held in Florence, mainly at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, a venue opened in 2014 in the Cascine park. Founded in 1933 by conductor Vittorio Gui, it is Italy's oldest music festival and one of Europe's oldest, known for reviving forgotten operas alongside staging the great classics. Its program blends opera, concerts, ballet and theatrical performances.
