Mahindra Independence Rock

Mahindra Independence Rock, also known as I-Rock, began in Mumbai in 1986 after gigs were cancelled at a St. Xavier's College festival, and remains one of India's longest-running rock festivals. Long associated with Rang Bhavan and later Chitrakoot Grounds, it returned in 2022 at a new venue, Bayview Lawns by the Arabian Sea. The lineup showcases the country's leading rock acts, spanning metal, alternative rock and its historic independent scene.
