About
The Majuli Music Festival is held on Majuli, the world's largest river island, set in the Brahmaputra River in Assam. Founded in 2019 by Mukul Doley and Momee Pegu to support local tourism and help the island cope with its annual flooding, this non-profit festival gathers indie, folk, jazz, electronic and experimental artists from India and beyond over three days. Stages are set up in open fields, by the riverside or under the stars, with an emphasis on eco-friendly practices.
