Mayday takes place at the Westfalenhallen exhibition complex in Dortmund, whose halls are converted into several indoor stages for the event. Launched in 1991, it is one of Germany's longest-running techno gatherings, with a lineup spanning techno, hardstyle and hardcore drawn from artists based in Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands among others.
