Nordlysfestivalen

Nordlysfestivalen (the Northern Lights Festival) has taken place each winter in Tromsø, in the far north of Norway, since 1988. The festival brings together classical music and jazz, from chamber ensembles to symphony orchestras, featuring Norwegian musicians such as Leif Ove Andsnes and Jan Garbarek alongside international guests. Its concerts unfold during the polar night, giving the event a distinctive atmosphere, and it relies on more than a thousand volunteers.
