Overview
About
Founded in 1962 as Olavsdagene, the festival commemorates Saint Olav around Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, a historic pilgrimage site. Its program blends sacred music, jazz and classical concerts with lectures, spanning more than 300 events across the city. A night vigil, the Olavsvaka, is held each year with hourly prayers running until dawn.
