Riverboat Jazz Festival

The Riverboat Jazz Festival takes place every June in Silkeborg, in Denmark's central Jutland lake district. Born in 1966 aboard small boats sailing the Gudenå river, it has grown into one of Northern Europe's major jazz gatherings, with hundreds of concerts spread across squares, streets and floating stages. The lineup ranges from traditional jazz and swing to blues, funk and more contemporary sounds, and admission to nearly all concerts is free, with drink sales on site helping fund the event.
