Saint-Omer Jaaz Festival

The Saint-Omer Jaaz Festival, created in 2015 by La Barcarolle, takes place every early summer in Saint-Omer, in the Pas-de-Calais region. Its free concerts unfold across heritage sites around town, including the Motte Castrale, the tourist office gardens, local churches, La Barcarolle's Italian-style theatre and the ruins of Saint-Bertin Abbey. Built around the idea of making jazz accessible to everyone, it showcases the French-speaking jazz scene and young talent, with the double 'a' in 'Jaaz' nodding to the Aa river that runs through the town.
