About
Smukfest, also known as the Skanderborg Festival, is held every August in the beech forest of Dyrehaven near Skanderborg, giving it its nickname as Denmark's most beautiful festival. It is the country's second-largest festival, drawing around 60,000 attendees, and focuses mainly on Danish music while also booking international names, spanning genres from rock and pop to hip-hop and electronic. It started in 1980 as a one-day event with seven bands and is now run as a non-profit organisation powered by its volunteers.
