Valley of Arts

The Valley of Arts (Művészetek Völgye) festival has run every summer since 1989 across several villages on the Lake Balaton Uplands, mainly Kapolcs, Taliándörögd and Vigántpetend. Rather than built stages, the villages' streets, courtyards and buildings themselves become concert halls, galleries and theatres, hosting thousands of events over ten days: music spanning folk, jazz, classical and contemporary, plus theatre, dance, visual arts, literature and workshops. Now Hungary's largest multidisciplinary arts festival, it also places strong emphasis on ecology and sustainability.
