Variation

Festival Variations takes place every spring in Nantes, centered on Le Lieu Unique with concerts spread across around ten venues in the metropolitan area, including Théâtre Graslin, the Musée d'arts and the Chapelle de l'Immaculée. Launched in 2017 by Le Lieu Unique and the Fondation BNP Paribas, it originally focused on piano and keyboard music before broadening to early music, jazz, electronic, experimental and pop repertoires. Its signature move is pairing genres with unusual settings, from theatres to churches, around a shared instrument or theme.
