Waiheke Jazz & Blues Festival

Running for more than three decades on Waiheke Island off Auckland, this festival brings jazz and blues to several of the island's vineyard estates, including Allpress Olive Estate, Goldie Estate and Batch Winery, over Easter weekend. What began as a jazz-focused event has broadened over the years to include blues, drawing New Zealand and international performers to a setting of vineyards and coastal scenery. An easy ferry ride from downtown Auckland, it works equally well as a day trip or a full weekend getaway.
