About
Wazemmes l'Accordéon fills the working-class Wazemmes district of Lille for more than a month each spring with world music built around the accordion. Born in 1992, it faded for a few years before being relaunched in 2002 by the Flonflons association, and now draws tens of thousands of festival-goers to concerts, dances, musical pétanque and a festive village. The traditional Bal du Cheval Blanc often kicks off the celebrations.
