Australian Festival of Chamber Music

Australian Festival of Chamber Music (AFCM) is a chamber music festival founded in 1991 in Townsville, Queensland, at the initiative of conductor Theodore Kuchar. Spread over roughly ten days in late July, it brings together thirty to forty musicians from Australia and abroad each year for concerts and masterclasses for emerging artists. It is the largest chamber music festival in the southern hemisphere, a fixture that has helped shape the host city's cultural identity.
