About
Founded by artists Vic Mensa and Chance the Rapper, the Black Star Line Festival debuted in Accra, Ghana, at Black Star Square, the monument marking the country's independence. The event blends music, art and Pan-African culture across a week of concerts, panels and gatherings, framed as a reunion between Africa and its African-American and Caribbean diaspora. Its name pays tribute to the Black Star Line, the shipping company founded by Marcus Garvey in 1919.
