Overview
About
The English Music Festival is devoted to rediscovering Britain's musical heritage, particularly English composers from the late 19th to mid 20th century such as Elgar, Vaughan Williams and Delius, alongside medieval works and new commissions. Founded by musicologist EM Marshall-Luck, it was long based in Oxfordshire before moving to Dartington Hall in Devon. The festival is known for staging world premieres of rediscovered and newly commissioned works, paired with contextual talks, and is backed by its own record label and publishing arm.
