Festival Amani

Born in Goma in 2013 in the Great Lakes region, this festival takes its name from the Swahili word for peace and pursues reconciliation through culture, under the motto playing for change, singing for peace. Its lineup leans heavily on Congolese rumba, ndombolo and soukous, bringing together hundreds of musicians and traditional and modern dancers. Because of insecurity in eastern DRC, the event has at times had to relocate, including to Lubumbashi.
