Festival de Besançon/Montfaucon

Founded in 2005 as the Montfaucon Early Music Festival, the event takes place across the village of Montfaucon, overlooking a loop of the Doubs river, and the city of Besançon. Led by fortepianist Arthur Schoonderwoerd and run by around fifty volunteers, it is now known as La Via Musica and focuses on early and classical music performed on period instruments.
