Festival de l'Epau

The Festival de l'Épau takes place every May at the Abbaye royale de l'Épau, in Yvré-l'Évêque near Le Mans, an abbey founded in 1229 by Berengaria of Navarre and set within a thirteen hectare park. Devoted to classical music since 1982, it presents around thirty concerts spread across the abbey church for major evening performances, the monks' dormitory for late afternoon musical sessions, and the chapter house for more intimate gatherings. It ranks among the most prominent musical events in the Pays de la Loire region.
