About
Founded in 1967 by conductor Herbert von Karajan, the Salzburg Easter Festival is held at the Grosses Festspielhaus and pairs opera with orchestral concerts built around a resident ensemble, today the Berlin Philharmonic under Kirill Petrenko. The programme combines a major opera production with choral and chamber music.
