Festival des abbayes en Occitanie

The Festival des Abbayes en Occitanie was founded in 2011 at the initiative of trumpeter Bernard Soustrot and takes place across some fifteen heritage sites in the south of France, including the church of Notre-Dame-des-Anges in Collioure, the Abbaye de Fontfroide and the Abbatiale de Saint-Gilles. It offers classical music concerts, notably with the Orchestre de chambre d'Occitanie, followed by tastings of local wines. Conceived as a summer touring circuit combining architecture, music and wine, it takes audiences from one abbey to the next at the height of the season.
