About
Founded by Richard Wagner in 1876, the Bayreuth Festival takes place at the Festspielhaus, a hall built to his own plans on the Grüne Hügel hill, with a hidden orchestra pit designed to blend the sound. Its programme is limited exclusively to the composer's ten operas, performed each summer in that same house.
