Festival international d'orgue de Chartres

Founded in 1975 by the Association des Grandes Orgues de Chartres, this festival is held every summer inside Chartres cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site, around its Danion Gonzalez organ. It offers free concerts, Sunday afternoons for the international festival and Thursday evenings for the summer sessions, and has hosted more than three hundred and fifty organists from around the world since it began. An international organ competition is held there in even numbered years.
