Festival international de viole de gambe

The Festival International de Viole de Gambe takes place every two years in Asfeld, in the Ardennes, inside the Saint-Didier church, whose architecture echoes the shape of the instrument itself. It brings together professional and amateur musicians from around the world around a repertoire ranging from medieval music to the Spanish Renaissance and Bach, culminating in the Consort Géant, an ensemble open to players of all levels. The festival also features an instrument-making exhibition and workshops on reading and interpretation.
