About
The Festival internazionale di musica antica takes place in the medieval town of Erice, in Sicily, presenting concerts spanning seven centuries of musical history, from the Middle Ages to the Baroque, with occasional forays into jazz and contemporary music. It is organized by Mema, the Mediterranean Music Association, successor to the Associazione Amici della Musica di Trapani founded in 1947, and uses heritage venues such as the cloister of the former San Francesco convent, the church of Sant'Antonio Abate and the courtyard of Palazzo Sales. A winter edition complements the summer festival as part of the village's Christmas celebrations.
