Festival L’art pour l’Aar

Festival L'art pour l'Aar was founded in 2002 by a group of Bern based composers, taking its name from the Aare river, whose shifting colors and currents symbolize the diversity of sound the festival seeks. Focused on contemporary music, it brings together new works, pioneering pieces of musical modernism, and occasionally early music, staged at various venues across the canton of Bern (museums, galleries, concert halls) as well as at the Theater am Gleis in Winterthur. Several times a year it thus connects German and French speaking Swiss music scenes.
