About
Born in the 1960s in Baradero, in Buenos Aires province, this festival devoted to popular Argentine music (tango and folklore) runs over several nights at the town's municipal amphitheater. Over the decades it has hosted major figures such as Atahualpa Yupanqui, Astor Piazzolla, Mercedes Sosa and Horacio Guarany, later welcoming more contemporary artists like Soledad Pastorutti and Abel Pintos. Suspended during the military dictatorship, it resumed with the return of democracy and remains one of the country's oldest major popular music gatherings.
